Warrant',No. 8,' totalling $23~131.14 was presented by Town Acct. Barrett and checked and approved by the' Board. '; Boy Scouts Stephen Lamb of troop 95'and Bruce"Bartlett 0f t~00p 92 were present 'to observe the meeting as a part of their good Government Day. PTA Holiday was granted a permit for a dance~n' Sat the 25~h at the High School Auditorium. Mr. James Kiilen"and ~r. Richard Kalm~"of %~e 'Amer. 5egion were present with reference to the Legion request for a permit. to have their carnival' AUg. 22nd thru'the 26th in the same location as last-year. This matter had previously been tabl~ for two weeks to allow for. any objections'to be received, .no objections being in the hands of the Board it was voted to approved this permit, closing hour llPM and with 'the.un- derstanding that there be no games of chance. Mr. Elwyn Francis Shellfish Warden was present and': advised the Board that he would be in favor of our availing ourselves of the states offer to have biologists establish a long range shellfish program for Nantucket. Voted to so advise . the Dept. A~ letter was received fr'0m Senator Kuchel of~Caiifornia relative to our. inquiry .to him as to a bill he had,filed with ref- · ~ erence.to shore erosion in Calif' the~senator stated that his bill was as a result of a condition caused by a federal military base, and did not apply to our situation. Application f0r~polfe locations .on'Milestone Rd. from the Tel and Gas & Elec. Co's was received and hearing date'set for 8 March 1961. Letters were received fr'0m'Mr.'~'~. McGr~th and Nant. const Co". relative to the vote of the Board last week relative to snow plows and f~led. There being no further" business the ~Board went into exec~utive session and adj. at 9'30 PM. .- : ':. :
