Mr. ElW~ P~ancis,,Shelifish Wa~den was p~ese'nt and suggested'to the Board that due to the conditions that have existed for the past few weeks,that the Board might consider increasing the bag~limit on scallops to six and 12, On motion duly made and seconded it was so voted, effective Monday 13 Feb. 196!r Mr. James Killen ~nd members of the American Legion Post were present and presented a request for a permi~ to hold a car- nivaI from Aug. 22nd thru Aug.~26th 1961 at the same location on N. Beach' St. as last year. The Board voted to table this' matter until~ 22 Feb. 1961'. Ch. Warrant'iSouza, group ~commander of the Coast Guard was pr'esent and outlined for the Board the proposed new construction at the Loran Station in Siasconset. Mr. W. Ripley Nelson of the H.D.C. and the Park & Rec. Commit'tee was present and reported onlhis trip to the legislature relati 'e to two bills having to do with these two committees. voted to write-Rep. Mooney a letter 'from"th~Board supporting the' bill"which calls for an extension of our state highway to ,include,the Polpis Road. ~ .... Voted to advise' the Supt.~ of streets that ihe Board deSir*ed on future storms the area'around the Town Bldg. on Union and Wash streets~be cleared of snow and also Middle Pearl St. from Center to ~ederal.~ ' The matter.of the Wannacomet ~ater Co. rate increase request Was discussed and it was voted to have the,Secy, determine what ~,~ 'the-cost might be to have someone represent the Town at this<`' VOted to'Write' the ~Sewer Commission and'~dvise that we had rec~ive¢ complaints that the Brant Point draiss were cloggedwith sandl There being'no fu~rfher~b~sineSs the Board reconvened as'County'. B..H. snow Of th'e Final'ce committe~ requesting an opinion as to whether he could~continue to serve on,this committee, due to the fact that he had been appointed to a maintenance job at the Airport. Voted to refer this matte~ to the Town Counsel. Also"voted to inquire 6f the'Town'Counsei as to the manner in which the Civil Set. Bill pertaing to hr. of local applicants, for the, Police Dept. could be brought, before the town for vote Letters were received relative to Art.'82 from Albert Sanford and , Francis .P,. Nash. ~r.
