being present.
Warrant No. 44 totalling $10,811.90 was 'PreSented by Town Acct.
Barrett and checked and approved by the Board.
Minutes of the previous meeting were read and appr0ved~
Applications for pole locations on morey lan~ and Milestone rd.
were received from the N.E.Tel & Tel and Nant. Gas & Elec.
Co. and' date for hearing set for 16 Nov. 1960.
A notice was received from the DPW advising that Walter F. Glowa(
was the only bidder on Cliff Rd. Ch. 90 project at a price
of $34,781.50 and that contracts were being drawn and would
be forwarded to us for signatures.
Mr. Frank Rebimbas was granted a permit tO erect a'sign over
the sidewalk at his place of business on lower Plesant~.St.
The Board'~iscussed the matter 'of a minimum age'for the granting
of Commercial Scallop permits and voted to set the age at
sixteen (16) years ....
A'report was received from the Fire Chief advising that he had
inspected the premises used by Mrs Adshead for her day school
and that he found same to be in proper condition. Upon motion
made and seconded it was voted that a license be granted to
Mrs Adshead.
It was voted to' have th'e bell tolled' on election day at 6.45 AM
and 4.30 PM.
On request'of Mr. Charles Annis it was voted t~'authorize the~
local civil Defense to use one of.the upstairs rooms in the
bldg. at corner of Broad and S. Water streets,~same being
directly over the information bureau, and to authorize~
whatever indidental expense was necessary to put same in.
condition.
There being'no further business the Board went into executive
session and adj. at 9.45 PM.

Voted'to have a slow children ~ign On Union'st. moved across
the street, and to ask the Supt 'of.streets for information
'relative to the new sidewalk being constructed on S. Beach/
voted lo Write Miss Hattie Lieghton relative.to Complaints
we had heard from her relative to the Island Home that
she was unhappy with the'care being given her mother she was
free to move her at anytime.'
Voted to write Isable Mendes a maid at Our. Island Home that
inasmuch as she had reached the mandatory retirement age
we could no longer keep her on after this pay period.
