The'meeting came to'order at 7.30 PM all members of the Board
being present. ', ,.
Warrant No. a3 totalling,S25,'886.00 was,presented by.Town
Acct.
,Barrett and checked and approved by the Board.
Minutes of the previous meeting were read and approved.
The Board approved and signed the warrant for the State and
Pres. election of Nov.'8th 1960.
Application of the N.E.Tei'& ~el~and'Nant. Gas & ~lec. for a
pole location on Wesco Pl' was approved.notice having been
.send to the abutter add'~o objections having been received.
A letter was received~ from the Nant. IS'.-Chamber of commerce
requesting consideration of a reduction of their rent and
this matter was taken under advisement.
The Amer. Legion AUx. was granted permission for a Poppy Day on
Sat. 5 Nov. 1960.
Mr. Charles Annis was appointed Civilian Defense Director to
replace Mr. David ~omth who had resigned.
Bids were received as folloWs on the printing of'warrants for
the Sp. Town meeting.~
Inq & Mirror 16.00 Nant. T~n Crier 17.50. Voted that same
be awarded the lowest bidder the Inq & Mirror.
There being no further business the Board went into executive
session and adj. at 10 PM.
Executive Session:
Voted to write the Harbor Master and request that he assist
the contractor on the Guest Moorings to locate same.
Voted to check with'the Finance committee on the matter of
budget hearings. -'
The 'Board discussed the matter 'Of Hulbert Ave~: e~tension
and it was voted to have Mr. Josiah Barrett properly bound
same and thereafter to determine its status and see that,any
.buildings encroaching thereon be removed and that,,abutters
be advised that it is a town way~ and that they.cannot bulldoz~
the area without permission from the Town. - :
The Board met withe'Mrs. Grimes and Mrs Cluet of the OAA'~d
ADC and Mr. McManus of the Div. of Child Guardianship, Mrs
Walker and Mrs Ingrahm am~ of the School Dept. and Mr. Marble
Probation officer and Mr. McManus outlined the duties and
responsibalities of his dept. and what assistance they could
and would be to us within their field.
