The meeting came,to order at ?.~0 PM al~ members of th~ Board
being,present. ~,
Warrant No. 40 totalling ~20,411.21 was present4d by Town Acct.
Barrett and checked and approved by the Board.
Minutes of the previous meeting were read and'ap~0ved.
A notice was received from the DPW advising that bids' would
be opened on the Cliff Rd. job on Tues. Oct. llth'1960
and forwarding a copy of the specifications, for our re-
cords. '-
Mr: Howard Bardsley representing the Madaket Conservation Asso.
was present and thanked the Board in behlaf of the Asso.

at.Broad Creek.
A letter was received from the Nant. Fishermen~ Asso. protestin
the aeiial spraying.of DDt for Mosquito control and'placed
A letter was received from MrS. David Mendolshon r~questing
tree planting on'her property on Cliff Rd. and same was
referred to the Tree Commission.
A ltte~ Was received from the Twon Treasurer relative to our'
inquiry as regards putting the money for.the new ladder
truck on.interest, In which the treasurer advised that
same could not be done so long as we had,~ny short term
.notes outstanding, and that if we were to. put same on
interest we could not borrow any money on sh~rt term notes
while said money was on deposit. - ....
The following applications were received for the-Position of
maintenance man at our Island Home; James Walsh; David
Worth;~Arthur Collins~ John W. Morgan; Donald Conway;
John McLaughlin Jr.; John Beamish Fr.; and Edward E. Backu~
The.Board discussed this matter in executive session and'
appointed Mr. John Beamish Jr. to this position. ~
Ch. Pease brought up the matter of N.E. airlines.reservation
system and after.discussion of same it was.voted to write

session and adj. at 9.45 PM;
Executive Session: The matter of a request by David Murray for
, a~.decision on whether he would be eligible.for a commercial
scallop license was.discussed and it was voted that in rode:
to be eligible a person must be'a legal ~esi~nt and eligible

ApprOval was g i-en the OAA and ADC Office.to reopen the
cases of EliZa King and Mrs ~illiam Burdick.
