Minutes Of the previous meeting Were read and approved. Mr. Elwyn Francis Shellfish warden was. present and discussed the mattmr of an open season on soft shell clams with the Boar, It was voted to open the season during Sundays in Oct. and Nov. the limit to be.one ten qt. paiI per permit; Also voted that the' Commercial scallop licenses be in the same form as last ,year., ,, -. It was vo ted to inquire of the Town treasurer the advisability o at this 'time investing the money appropriated for the pur- chase of the new ladder truck. Mr. Arthur Robert-son of, the' Salary'Study committee was present and noted that the Board had never appointed the other two members of this committee and that resigning as 'he would be' away all winter..A letter was received from Mr..Foulkrod to this effect and it was voted ~to send him a letter of thanks for his services on this commit t e e. Cofitracts with Maxim Mir'. Co. for the purchase of a ladder truck for the~Fire Dept. were received and signed by the Board. A 'request from the Fire Chief for additional funds .for. the op- eration' of his dept. was received and voted referred to the Finance Committee. The Board was in receipt of the resignations Of Mrs Mary Slosek and Mr. Gilbert Burchell as R.N.'Supervisor and Maintenanc~ Man at ou~ island home and it was voted to advertise for .applications for these positions same to be in ,by next~ ' meeting. Look'or.the.Steamship Auth relative to our request that the authority meet ~lt~;Nantuck~ advising that he would take same up with the authority and advise. , - , '.-' ,, The matter of Madaket Buoys Was disucssed ~nd Mr'. [Barret't was appointed a committee ofone to take care~of the-matter of replacing 'some of the present buoys with poles for-the . winter -'- " " , .... ' -' .. -.
