The 'meeting came to order at 8PM all members of the Board being

Warrant No. 35 totalilng $16~811.27 Was presented by TOwn Acct.
Barrett and checked and approve'd by the Board.''
Minutes of the previous meeting were r'ead and approved.
A letter was received from Mr. William E. Hution relative to
draggers, netting and their effect on shore fishing,
and placed on file.
Nant. Gas,& Elec.'Co' was granted approval t0 place apple anchor
cable just over'the line at the Island Home property
on lower Orange st. opposite Dave.
it was noted that relative to the Ch. 90 Cliff'Rd. ,project that'
the estimated cost to the town of carting fill to the
dump would be aproximately $250.00 which would be a non
participating cost'
A petition and letter was received relative to stop signs on '
Franklin St. and slow signs on New Lane and it was voted
,to have stop signs erected at both Franklin St. and
Grove lane at New Lane and intersecting way signs erected
on New Lane as well as to,have the brush cu~t a these
corners. ,,
,It was noted that many hedges are 'growing out over the property
lines unto the sidewalk and it was voted to ,ask the Supt.
of streets to list those he might'note and so advise us.
Siasconset Casino Asso. was gra~ted a permit for a dance on'Labor
Day from 9 to 2 AM.
A letter was received f~om the USCG .relativ'e to the purchase
of some town owned beach land near the Loran Sra. and
same was referred to the Town Counsel ,for reply. '
voted tO place an adv.~in the local papers requesting the 'coop-'
· eration of the local shop-owners relative to the ap
of their windows during the off season.
The matter of the ~steamer Nantucket anchoring o~tside the ,Jetties
was discussed at some length and 'it was~voted,to write'
the authority 'protesting, the occasions when- their -seems
· ', to be no need for this.
Voted to {rite the Gas' and Elec.'Co.'relative~to the street light
on Vestal St. it being pointed out that there is now no
light on either pole no 3. or 4. Suggested that if a
light on pple No. 3 would bother the observatory that
psssibly a swithch could be arranged to be controlled by
the observatory.
The matter of bids received on the ladder truck was ~iscussed'
with the fire cbief and it was voted to write a letter
to Maxim Mtr. Co. and ask them to clalrify their bid.
