'~,~ The meeting~came to,order at 8PM'all members of the-~.ard being present the Board first ~eting as county commissioners; Warrant No. 32 totalling $132,136.12 ~as~presented by Town Acct. Barrett and checked and approved by the Board2' Minutes of the previous meeting were read and approved. Mr. Ripley Nelson representing the civic League was.present and advised the Board of the work done relative to rag weed.. and the.taking of pollen counts, offered a form of proclamati, to be issued by the Board which was voted approved. Noted that the area on the sides of the bicycle path 'and on the sides of the sidewalk leading to the wharf had a good growth of ragweek and it was voted,to write the highway dept. to take care of the latter and to write the state'DPW relativ~ to the former and to,request that any work be done under the supervision of the insect pest control officer. %1 ~. '.- 80J with gr. R. Pope The Board discussed the matter of article .which'calls for .the~spraying of brush at O. South, Old North and Colored cemetaries and it was voted to authorize Mr. Russell Pope to go forward with this work under the direction of the caretaker of cemetery lots, Mr. Burchell. A letter was received from Mrs Harris relative to the stump on ~ain street and same was discussed with Mr. pope of the Tree Commission who was~present and placed on file 'Mr. Franlk Hardy W~ote pointing out. that the present signs on the sightseeing bus stand prohibit parking 24 hfs a day ' whereas the.busses only sse same during the daytime and suggested th same be changed to allow parking between the hours of 6PM and 8AM and same was voted approved. A letter was received from Group Cmdr."Souza of 'the C.G.'advising that.instructions had been given the local CG to use the east side of the jetties to gain access to the shore so as not to cut up the beach. The matter of.the walk on Spring street from Lincoln Ave. to Jefferson Ave. was referred to Mr' Putterick for repairs.
