Barrett and checked and approve~ by the Board. M~nutes of the previous meeting were read and'approved. Town.Clerk C~arles C."C°ffJn was present and"requested that the Board'sign the.necessary note for the Town Treasurerlto Borrow 100,000.00 in anticipation of revenue, which was done. A letter was received from the Boy Scouts~f Ame~ic~ inviting, any and all members of the Board to attend their Court~ of Honor on Fri. 13 May. Aletter was received from the Board of Assessors relative to Art. 97 advising .that they had only received one bid ~and that in excess of the appropriation for the printing of the valuation list and asking our suggestions as to the obtaining of additional funds. The Board disucssed ihts matter with both of the local printers who were present and after same it was voted to write the Assessors and advise theat we felt this matter could be accomplished in'either of two ways: 1. By printing .same on good grade paper.using newspaper style format for 2700 copies and by extending the edeadlin~ to.1 Oct. 1960. 2; By printing same in booklet form as they proposed, red- ucing the number to 2000 and extending the deadline to 1 Oct. 1960. ' ' The following license renewals'were applied for and approved: Overlook Hotel, Innholders; Dounyflake Doughnut Shop, 'Common Vict. and Bllen'T..Winters d~a Bayberry Inn, Inn holders (formerly Roberts House). A letter'was received from Mr.~Chester Barrett relative tO a yellow curbing extending.in front of his property on Liberty St. and~requesting that it be painted white'or that he be given permission to paint same white. It was voted to approved white and to refer this to the Supt. of streets to work out with Mr. Barrett. A letter.was received from the Planning Board, copy sen~ to'other ~ town depts requesting a five year program of Planning for improvements under our jurisdiction. ~ It was Voted to ~dvertise the matter of Art. 37 annual ~aJrant concerning the picking up of rubbish and the cleaning of beaches, same to be in My Wed.~'25 May 1960. It was voted to Write the Police de*pt..~o m~ke'a concerted attemp· to~aprehedn persons throwing out bottles etc. at the J Beach parking area. Voted to write Mrs Henry Huyser advising that the matter of the curb and other inmprovements on New street ~hould be the subject of an article for the warrant. It was voted that starting next week our regular weekly meeting would be held at 8PM. The Board went into executive session to disuccss welfare matters and adj. at 10.30 PM.
