present. '~ ·

Board'met with the Planning Board Members, Mr. Arthu'r Egan,
Mrs.' Grace Klingelfuss, ~Mr..Wesley Fordyce, and Mr. Arthur
Gibbs discussed the problems, of the Planning Board and the
Board of Sslectment. in 'General. Some of the specific matters
discussed, were with reference 'to the master plan, and the
problem of street numbering and it was the sense' of the .meet
that we should get together with.the various"department h~ads
and formulate ~an outline of long~ range planning for contemplat
capital inprovements, street repairs, sewer develoPment and
so forth. ~,
ElW-Yn Francis, fsheilfish warden,~'~was present ~a~nd outlined, for
the Board his program for the next 5 months advised that he
planned to move sea oysters and quahogs at the East end of the
island,~and scollops seed at the West end of the island. ~He
also outlined a plan for taking out. the ditch running from the
North head,of Long Pond to be done with State Shellfish funds,
It also voted to do specifically approve this work on the-'
Long Pond ditch. ~ ~
It als0 voted that we adve~tise for~btds"~for the opening~.0f.
Sesachacha Pond seemed to be in the hands of the Board by
April 20.~'The ~opening to be under the supe~ision and
,~ direction ~ the shellfish warden. ,~ ',
matter &f opening Hummock Pond again was discussed and ~it was
voted to consult with'the farmers in the area as to whether
they had any abjections to the Board being let ~out again
at this time.~ .. ~ ~
Seddon Legg Sr. was present and brought bo the Board~s~
the matter of Article 81 of the annual warrant cove~ing seed,
loam, and fertilizer for Veteran's ~graves,-and it was voted
that Mr. Gilbert Burchell be instructed to proceed with the
wol~k. · ~ ~.
Board was 'in ~eceipt of a letter from irving T. Bartlebt, Chief
of Fire Department requesting that he be ~authorized to bid~on
'~ article~ 68 of· the 'annual warMant, the same to be returnable
to the Board of Selectmen, and it was so ~oted. Then,it was
~ also.voted to ,request the Chief to submit~specifications
covering a~ticle 69_ of the annual war~ant.~
ids were received on the listing of the Day ~Camp at the Jetties
Beach,~and it was voted that same be referred to the Park and
Recreation Commission for~thei~ action. ·
ir. Joseph A. ~Cahoon wrote requesting the installation of a street
light near his premises, Milestone Road, ~Siasconset. It was
voted to look at this matte~ when we make a survey~of street
lights.
