OF THIS COMMONWEALTH
I dee[n It advisable to enclose fi,r your mformatmn and attention Chapter 375 Acts of
1914 which t~kes effect May 1 1914 and whereby persons now ehg~ble as wives widows and
mothers of soldmrs of the Civil and the Spamsh War as well as army nurses of the above named
wars and helpless children m receipt of a II S pension for $4 00 State Aid m the second third,
fourth and fifth classes of Sectwu 3 Chapter 468 Acts of 1909 may be paid Sb 00
AN ACT REIATIVE TO INCREASlHO THE AMOUNT OF STATE AID TO CERTAIN RECIPIENTS

follows ~

exceeding m any one mouth three fourths of the monthly amount of hm pension nor
exceeding s~x dollars m any one month or to or for a person of the second third fourth
or fifth class of said section exceeding s~x dollars
dollar~ shall be pa~d to or for all the dependent relatives of any one soldier or sailor m any
one month State a~d shall not be paid to or for any soldmr or sailor on account of serwce
~n the war w~th Spare or ~o Ins dependent relatives unless he enhsted or
the servme of the Umted States after the fourteenth day of February and prior to the
twelfth day of August m the year eighteen hundred and ninety e~ght but ~t may be allowed
to or for volunteers mustered rotc the sera, ce of the Umted States ~n Massachusetts reg~
ments after said twelfth day of August but prior to the ~irst day of January eighteen
hundred and ninety rune who shall otherwise be qualified to receive the same and to or for
their dependent relatives

N B --The passage of said act does not automatically ~ncrease the amount of
state aid It will be necessary ~n all cases where the amount of thru increase
is needed to forward a certificate of reasons with the recommendation of the
authorltms who have to do with the disbursing of State and Military Aid in the
c~tles and towns of thts Commonwealth to the Commissioner of State A,d an~i,
Pensions for his approval
