To either of the Constables of the Town of Nantucket I
GreetIng
In the name of the Commonwealth of Massachusetts you are I
directed to notify the Inhabitants of the Town of Nantucket
qualIfied to vote In Town AffaIrs to meet at the AMERICAN
I EGION HALL WashIngton street In said Nantucket on FRI I
DAY the 22nd DAY of DECEMBER, 1933 at 7 30 0 clock 10 the
fternoon then and there to act on the folloWIng articles I
Article I-To choose a Moderator to preSide at said meet10g
Article 2-To receive reports from commIttees which shall
come before this meet10g
Article 3--To see If the Town Will vote to authOrize and m
...truct Its Selectmen to sell the whole or a part of the property now
owned by the Town at the corner of Federal and Broad Streets
to the Federal Government for a Post Office site for the sum of
Seventeen Thousand FIve Hundred Dollars ($17500 00) which
sum It has defimtely made for a SIte
Article 4-To see If the Town Will vote to authorIze and m
struct ItS Selectmen to procure plans and speCIfications for a Town
Office BUlld10g to Include a Court Room and PolIce StatIOn com
b10ed at a cost not to exceed SIxty Thousand Dollars ($60 000 00)
and that they the Selectmen be authorized by the Town to use
any part of the Town s land which In theIr Judgment wIll be best
bUlted as to Its location either the lower part of the Town s prop-
erty on Broad and South Water Streets or on the corner of Federal
'lnd East Chestnut Streets and that the sum of Three Hundred
Dollars ($30000) be approprIated for the purpose of drawmg
maps and speCIficatIOns for the same
Article 5-To see If the Town WIll vote to authOrize ItS Select
men to use the Town Hall Fund toward the bUIldIng to be known
as the Town Office BUlldmg
Article 6-To see If the Town wIll vote to authorIze and In
struct ItS Selectmen to procure a grant and a loan of Thirty Thou
~and Dollars ($3000000) from the Federal Emergency Loan Ad
mInIstration for the purpose of Improvmg our sewerage system
Article 7-To see If the Town Will vote to authorize and In
truct Its Selectmen to take Immediate action to cut an opemng
through the beach at the head of the harbor for the Improvement
of our fishenes location to be approved by Umted States EngIneers
Article 8-To see If the Town wIll vote to approprIate all
money received from the sale of the Town s property If any
toward the Town Office BUlldmg
And to act on and transact all bUSIness that may arIse 10 rela
tIon to the foregomg artIcles
And you are directed to serve thIS warrant by postIng a copy
of the same at the corner of MaIn and Federal Streets 10 the Post
Offices In Town and Smsconset and by publIshmg the same m The
InqUIrer And Mirror at least seven days before the date of said i
meetmg
