DIVISION OF' HOUglNG AND TOWN PLANNING

STATE HOUSE BOSTON
September 9, 1930
To the Board of Selectmen,
Nantucket, Mass
Gentlemen
As I understand it a planning board has been
duly established for your town but no board now exists
failure to elect at the annual town meet-
simply
through
lng This is unfortunate because the need for such a
board is manifest as is evidenced by the fact that we
already have lis boards in this state and new ones are
constantly being established
Whatever the arguments may be, the town has
~stablished such a board and it should elect such a
board the same as it elects other established boards
I would appreciate it, therefore, if you would
call the matter to the attention of the proper authori-
ties so that the necessary nominations may be made, if
that is the custom, and the places may be properl2 in-
dicated ~n the ballot Such boards are elected at the
annual town meeting the same as other boards, and it is
the obvious duty of the towns-officers to see that the
board is properly filled
If i can give you any help in the matter please
let me know
