Minutes of the meeting of March 4, 2019. The meeting took place in the Public Safety Facility
Training Room, 4 Fairgrounds Road, Nantucket, MA 02554. Members of the committee present
were: John Brescher, Curtis Barnes, Rick Atherton, and Kristie Ferrantella (via phone), Linda
Williams (1:24).
1)Chair John Brescher called the meeting to order at 1:10 with a quorum.
2)Agenda: Rick Atherton moved approval of the agenda, seconded by Curtis Barnes. All
voted in favor
3)Public Comment: None.
4)Approval of minutes. January 28th as revised; February 11th as they stand. Curtis
moved to approve, seconded by Rick. All voted in favor
5)Review of papers. None. Waiting on Linda and Tucker to present.
6)Meeting timeline. We would like to meet before Town Meeting. We would also like to
have our one-page review in time for Town Meeting. We should try to meet before our
March 13th update to Select Board. With that in mind, Monday March 11th will be next
meeting, then Monday March 25th. The goal for 3/11 would be to finalize the update for
the SB. The last few updates have been oral. We should work on the one-page update
and we could then use this for both SB and TM. Our report to the board should show
everything we’ve covered including topics we are not pursuing.
We should review all of Massachusetts forms of government to see if anyone else with a
similar size or demographic like us have moved to a representative town meeting. All

7)Next meeting is March 11, 2019 at 1pm
8)Curtis made a motion to adjourn the meeting, seconded by Linda, all voted in favor. The
meeting was adjourned at 1:40pm.
