TO WHOM IT MAY CONCERN:
I, Catherine Flanagan Stover, duly elected Clerk of the Town and County of Nantucket, hereby
certify that the April 3, 2018 ANNUAL TOWN MEETING adopted Article 9: “Appropriation:
Health and Human Services ” at the April 3, 2018 adjourned session when “...the adoption of
all articles not heretofore acted upon as recommended by the Finance Committee, or as
recommended by the Planning Board, was duly motioned, seconded, and voted in accordance
with the motions recommended by the Finance Committee or, in the absence of a Finance
Committee motion, then in accordance with the motions as recommended by the Planning
Board, as printed in the Finance Committee Report, with technical amendments brought forward
during the course of the meeting…”
VOTE: The vote on the motion pursuant to Article 9 as moved by the Finance Committee,
was by Unanimous Voice Vote. The motion was adopted.

ARTICLE 9
(Appropriation: Health and Human Services)
To see what sums the Town will vote to appropriate, and also to raise, borrow pursuant to
any applicable statute, or transfer from available funds, for the Council for Human Services to be
used by the Council to contract with various health and human services, not-for-profit
corporations to provide for the health, safety and welfare of the inhabitants of the Town of
Nantucket; further, that all such sums be expended on the condition that grant agreements be
executed by and between the Board of Selectmen and the respective private, not-for-profit
agency for Fiscal Year 2019, which grant agreements shall stipulate mutually agreed upon terms
and conditions; or to take any other action related thereto.

FINANCE COMMITTEE MOTION: Moved that Four Hundred Fifty Thousand Dollars
($450,000) be raised and appropriated from the Fiscal Year 2019 tax levy and other general
revenues of the Town for the Town Manager to expend to fund grants for the following health
and human services, private not-for-profit agencies to provide for the health, safety and
welfare of the inhabitants of the Town of Nantucket, provided that the Town Manager with the
approval of the Board of Selectmen, execute grant agreements with the respective agencies
for Fiscal Year 2019, which contracts shall stipulate mutually agreed upon terms and
conditions:
