HomeMy WebLinkAboutWoodard and Curran Monthly Update 20140917_201502271159316174TOWN OF NANTUCKET, MASSACHUSETTS Monthly Update WOODARD & CURRAN 1 of 4 SEPTEMBER 17, 2014Projects 223970 Madaket Wastewater Treatment Facility & Collection System Phase 1 - Preliminary Design Phase Progress Last Month: Coordinating GSA and Town Appraisers for final assessment of land Continued conversations with MassDEP to provide additional information requested to obtain a response to Groundwater Discharge Permit Modification and Hydrogeological evaluation for additional loading to Surfside Discharge Beds Finalized energy memo for Surfside Treatment plant Finalized Surfside Capacity Analysis memo. This Month: Final appraisals submitted to GSA. Awaiting call from GSA Director John Kelly for on Island meeting and discussion of GSA Offer. Continue to follow up with MassDEP on Groundwater Discharge Permit Modification. MassDEP has asked for additional tasks relating to hydrogeological work from W&C before modified Groundwater Discharge permit is issued. MassDEP re-looking at groundwater monitoring plan to possibly revise. Awaiting approval from Town on amendment to scope of work to cover FAA appraisal and tasks associated with, as well as additional work required for the Surfside groundwater Discharge Permit Modification. Schedule Projected completion date – December 2014. Financial Phase 1 Budget - $348,630 Spent - $ 348,630 Town Action (s) Required: Process Amendment 2 for FAA and groundwater discharge work. Finalize all discussions on energy memo. Approve Amendment No. 2 ASAP to cover appraisal costs and additional work underway on both the FAA appraisal and Surfside Groundwater Discharge Permit. Town of Nantucket, Massachusetts Project Update September 17, 2014 WOODARD & CURRAN 2 of 4 225139 CWMP Update Progress Last Month: Followed up on BRP WP 83 – Hydrogeological Evaluation for Surfside beds to support additional loading. Discussions with MassDEP and some additional work will be coordinated between the Department and W&C on the monitoring plan. Followed up on BRP WP 11- Surfside Groundwater Discharge Permit Modification to support additional loading. MassDEP has given a verbal approval to revised permit. Meeting with Town staff on the results of the April breach of Hummock Pond. Based on recommendations in MEP Report, Pond opening was a success. Awaiting water quality tests taken before and after the opening. Continued to work with SMAST finalizing model runs in Nantucket Harbor Reviewed of Draft Public Outreach Plan for Fall/Winter 2013 with Town Continued with report compilation Continued To evaluate energy efficiency measures. Reviewed Flows and Loads with DPW Director and SPWG Delivered Town’s final appraisal to GSA to initiate transfer process This Month: Met with Town on draft Capital Improvements Plan Continue to compile and review draft report sections and compile for Town Manager and DPW Director. Finalize Energy Efficiency Study. Review and incorporate into Draft CWMP Update the additional models for Nantucket and Polpis Harbor. Set meetings with MassDEP and MEPA Office on future filings Meet with Town to discuss CWMP implementation and future public outreach Schedule Projected completion date – July 2014 Financial Budget - $616,000 Spent: $ 577,821 Town Action (s) Required: . Provide dates available for regulatory meetings. Follow up with GSA and Town Appraiser process. Per Town request, construction to begin ±Oct 6 on Fair St., final paving Nov 10.
