HomeMy WebLinkAboutWoodard and Curran Monthly Update 20140502_201502271159298830TOWN OF NANTUCKET, MASSACHUSETTS Monthly Update WOODARD & CURRAN 1 of 5 MAY 2, 2014 Projects 223970 Madaket Wastewater Treatment Facility & Collection System Phase 1 - Preliminary Design Phase Progress Last Month: Coordinating GSA and Town Appraisers for final assessment of land Continued conversations with MassDEP to provide additional information requested to obtain a response to Groundwater Discharge Permit Modification and Hydrogeological evaluation for additional loading to Surfside Discharge Beds Provided capacity assessment memo with findings and recommendations for Town to review. This Month: Working with appraisers with comps utilized by both Town and GSA in valuation on FAA site Will coordinate May 15 delivery to GSA of LandVest appraisal Working with MassDEP on Groundwater Discharge Permit Modification. MassDEP has asked for additional tasks relating to hydrogeological work from W&C Working on energy memo for Surfside Treatment plant Putting together amendment to scope of work for Town Schedule Projected completion date – March 2014. Financial Phase 1 Budget - $348,630 Spent - $ 342,134.15 Town Action (s) Required: Review and provide comments on the capacity assessment memo. Address amendment request based on additional tasks Town of Nantucket, Massachusetts Project Update May 2, 2014 WOODARD & CURRAN 2 of 5 225139 CWMP Update Progress Last Month: Followed up on BRP WP 83 – Hydrogeological Evaluation for Surfside beds to support additional loading. Discussions with MassDEP and some additional work will be coordinated between the Department and W&C on the monitoring plan. Followed up on BRP WP 11- Surfside Groundwater Discharge Permit Modification to support additional loading. MassDEP has given a verbal approval to revised permit. Worked with Town to forecast April 15 opening of Hummock Pond. Based on recommendations in MEP Report, Pond opening was a success. Continued to work with SMAST finalizing model runs in Nantucket Harbor Reviewed of Draft Public Outreach Plan for Fall/Winter 2013 with Town Continued with report compilation Continued To evaluate energy efficiency measures. Reviewed Flows and Loads with DPW Director and SPWG Met with SPWG via phone call on April 4, 2014 This Month: Continue to compile and review draft report sections Develop cost benefit estimates for Energy Efficiency Study and provide memo for Town review Receive results of additional models for Nantucket and Polpis Harbor with SMAST Review Fertilizer Regulation and impact in Nantucket Harbor Watershed For TMDLs as well as overall Town In Nitrogen sensitive areas Deliver Town’s final appraisal to GSA to initiate transfer process Set meetings with MassDEP and MEPA Office on future filings Meet with Town to discuss CWMP implementation and public outreach Schedule Projected completion date – July 2014 Financial Budget - $616,000 Spent: $ 521,100.18 Town Action (s) Required: Review and provide comments on the Energy Efficiency Study memo. GSA and Town Appraiser process 226494 Jetties Support Update Progress Last Month: All Activities on hold until further budgets are approved Town of Nantucket, Massachusetts Project Update May 2, 2014 WOODARD & CURRAN 3 of 5 This Month: Coordinate efforts with town on public outreach Coordinate With ACOE on Design Schedule Schedule Projected Jetties Reconstruction Bid-Winter 2014 Projected Contractor Bid Award early May 2014. Financial Budget - $20,000 Spent: $ 18,586 Town Action (s) Required: Meet with Town to discuss further jetties support 224428 Miacomet Pond Watershed Study Progress Last Month:  Compiled information obtained for Planning Department Finalized watershed delineation Conducted interview with owner on Allen Lane Completed analysis of land use changes  This Month: Schedule Projected completion date – May 2014. Date extended due to weather impacting field investigations and to ensure time to meet with stakeholders. Financial Engineering Budget - $125,800 Spent - $19,839 Town Action (s) Required: None at this time Town of Nantucket, Massachusetts Project Update May 2, 2014 WOODARD & CURRAN 4 of 5 225140 Phase IIB Sewer and Water Main Rehabilitation Project Progress Last Month: South Water Street, sewer stormwater and drainage installation completed. Sewer main construction continued on Quince Street. Roadway paving preparations began on South Water Street and Broad Street. This Month: Finalize binder paving on South Water Street and Broad Street. Complete sewer main and service connections on Quince Street. Complete site cleanup in preparation for Daffodil Days. Prep roadways for final paving to be completed during Fall 2014. Schedule Projected completion date – October 2014 Financial Engineering Budget - $1,070,720 Spent - $726,260 Construction Bid - $4,005,467.25 (including change orders executed), Spent - $3,459,552.25 Town Action (s) Required: Work with Woodard & Curran to coordinate with local businesses and residents during construction Provide support as needed in field for utility identification 225839 Surfside WWTF Assessment and Upgrades Progress Last Month: Provided memo on screenings assessment for Town review. This Month Develop plan for additional operational assistance to pilot running the plant with one train of the advanced treatment system off-line.
