HomeMy WebLinkAboutWoodard and Curran Monthly Update June 5, 2012_201401230917003232TOWN OF NANTUCKET, MASSACHUSETTS Monthly Update WOODARD & CURRAN 1 of 3 JUNE 5, 2012 Projects 223970 Madaket Wastewater Treatment Facility & Collection System Phase 1 - Preliminary Design Phase Progress Last Month: Attended April GSA meeting Continued work with Madaket site surveys: Natural Heritage and Endangered Species Program Massachusetts Historical Commission Under Madaket Amendment No. 1 began assessment of Madaket force-main options and ability of Surfside WWTP to accept Madaket sewer flows. Currently assessing alternative routes and identification of construction challenges for each proposed route. Met with Town at Surfside WWTF to discuss staffing, administrative, and operational objectives This Month: Continue under Madaket Amendment No. 1 assessing alternative routes and identification of construction challenges for each proposed route. Continue work with Madaket site surveys Schedule Projected completion date – December 31, 2012 (Unchanged) Financial Phase 1 Budget - $348,630 Spent - $112,580 Town Action (s) Required: Madakat WWTF site visit with GSA Town of Nantucket, Massachusetts Project Update June 5, 2012 WOODARD & CURRAN 2 of 3 224386 Wastewater Action Plan Phases 1 - 4 Progress Completed Schedule Projected completion date – completed Financial Budget - $186,000 Spent - $186,000 Town Action (s) Required: None CWMP Update Progress Last Month: Worked with BOH, MassDEP, the Administration, and Town Counsel on local ACO language and new BOH Regulation for failing onsite systems within approved needs areas. Assisted the Marine and Coastal Resources Department with an Invitation to Bid for the Town’s annual water quality sampling and analysis which was completed and a contract awarded to SMAST. Contract is before the Board of Selectmen for approval June 6th. Finalized CWMP Update scope of work and submitted CWSRF application to MassDEP. Attended March 31, 2012 Annual Town Meeting. Article 15 – Appropriation: Enterprise Funds Capital Expenditures included, funding of an increase in Phase IIB sewer rehabilitation work by $2,000,000 (from 5,000,000 originally approved, to a new total of $7,000,000) such work to also include improvements to certain portions of the sewers in Fair Street, and $750,000 for an Update to the 2004 Comprehensive Wastewater Management Plan - approved. This Month: Anticipate receipt of MassDEP Project Approval Certificate which will allow official start of the Comprehensive Water Management Plan Update. Town Action (s) Required: Develop mission statement and select members of CWMP Citizen Advisory Committee Develop summer associations/ civic groups/ environmental, etc. organizations meeting schedule/assign presenters/prepare agendas Town of Nantucket, Massachusetts Project Update June 5, 2012 WOODARD & CURRAN 3 of 3 Phase IIB Sewer Rehabilitation Project Progress Last Month: Attended meeting with Wannacomet Water Company representatives to discuss inclusion of water main replacement in project area. Drafted proposed scope and budget for initial review by the Administration This Month: Contract before the Board of Selectmen for approval.
