That's 7 AM until after dark. For this project to work, this needs to be done in perpetuity. Although the SBPF says they will pay for it all -including removing the geotubes if they become useless. In realitythis is pretty unlikely when the present houses are sold to new people and/or their descendants who may tire of the SBPF expenses. I will attend the ConCom meeting today in order to listen & to register my protest. Perhaps also the BoS meeting. When the Town government is involved, we citizens of the island should be asked to vote on the matter since we might be required to pay for this work. How can a few town officials go ahead and cause new taxes to be incurred without a majority vote of Nantucketers who pay taxes? I am aware of the town's tax issue to provide water and electric lines to the remaining houses. Meanwhile the town officials must see how sand trucks in perpetuity is ridiculous. It ruins the comfort and peace (and even the value) of all the homes along Baxter road and the roads that connect to the sand pits. Yours in good faith, Dorothy Vollans (Sconset property owner since 1969)
