on Monday September 9th! In the
case of rain, we will move the
party to the OIH dining room.

Berreth, Staff Development
Coordinator
Please join us in welcoming OIH’s
new Staff Development
Coordinator, Michelle Berreth, RN.
Michelle has worked in a
community hospital, home care
pharmacy, a medical oncology clinic
giving chemotherapy, a cancer
center with radiation oncology
patients, as a nurse educator for a
specialty nursing organization, and
most recently she traveled
throughout Massachusetts and
Rhode Island inserting IVs for
patients in hospitals, skilled
nursing, and long term care
facilities. Michelle loves OIH’s
“sense of community and caring.
From volunteers to families to staff
members, it’s all about taking care
of each other.”

Local Nantucket photographer
Barbara Clarke is offering her
portraiture services free of
charge to OIH residents. If you
would like to schedule group or
individual portraits for your
friend or family residing at OIH,
please contact Taylor Hilst at

schedule an appointment.

Employee of the Month
Sherry Souza
Sherry is one of our most seasoned
nurses aids, as she has been with OIH
since 1991! In Sherry’s 28 years with
us, she has provided wonderful care
to so many residents.
Volunteer of the Month
Jean Allen
No one can doubt Jean’s dedication to
OIH. She has been coming weekly to
provide communion to our Catholic
residents for 19 years, and also helps
organize our monthly Catholic Mass
service. We are very grateful to her
for helping our residents practice
their faith.
Family Council: Sept. 18th, 10 am.
Nanpuppets: Back for another
show, 4pm on September 18th!
Thanks to the Mass
Cultural Council!
Boys and Girls Club: The NBGC is
coming to visit during our next
Nanpuppets performance.
Early Childhood Playgroup: we
continue to host an early
childhood playgroup, facilitated by
Susan Richards of Nantucket
Community School. Starting
September 16th, this group will
take place on Monday mornings at
10:30 am.
“End of Summer” Party: Please
join us on the OIH patio for a
cookout! 12:00 noon on

September 4th, 9th, 16th, and 23rd.

PJ Moody: PJ will be joining us at
the “End of Summer” party on
September 9th.
Jim Sulzer: classical guitar on
September 12th and 19th.
(All music performances begin at
4pm, in the OIH living room).

current site: The team at LWDA is
working with the Town of
Nantucket and stakeholders on a
feasibility study for future options
for Our Island Home. For more
