Other Business
1. HO Ray presents emergency preparedness to BOH along with Sean O’Brien
who works with 23 communities on the Cape and islands on emergency
preparedness, Tina Holloway, Nurse Practitioner’s power point presentation for
emergency preparedness for the Cape and islands and Lynda Costa who discusses
the Medical Reserve Corps and the volunteers needed in the community.
HO Ray is looking for volunteers in community (medical and non-medical) for a
variety of assignments. Community members can phone the Nantucket Health
Department at 508-228-7226. Volunteers are also needed to serve on a Steering
Committee.
2. Licensed Caterers – The Health Department wants to track caterers in the

3. Water Quality/Beach Sampling – The Health Department routinely sampled 19
beaches (weekly). Monthly testing of some beaches is now possible with the

Street Beach and Children’s Beach. Monthly testing of all others will take place.

discussion as to format, make-up and staffing of a separate BOH should occur as
we progress towards the annual Town Meeting.
