National Nursing
Assistant Week
June 13th through 20th is the
42nd annual National Nursing
Assistant Week! This is a time for
us to recognize those who have
dedicated their lives to the
wellbeing of others. Here are just
some of the wonderful things our
residents have to say about their
CNAs: “I love them because they
are so funny, they make you
laugh. When you’re laughing, you
feel alive and happy.” -Betty R.
“I love them because they are
sweet. They take care of all of us,
I don’t know what we’d do
without them. They do my hair
and makeup and make me feel
good.” -Bernice A.
“They are quick when I need
something.” -Roy B.
“My CNA is an angel. She is so
good to me. So gentle and kind.” -
Carol V.
“They’re all so helpful and kind,
and funny!” -Gladys S.
Staff Update:
Please join us in welcoming
Ronnie Rogers, our new Business
Office Coordinator, and Michelle
Berreth RN, our new Staff
Development Coordinator! We
are thrilled to have them be part
of the Our Island Home team.
Communication:
Please remember that if you need
to communicate with OIH staff
about your loved one, please call
the main number at 508-228-0462
and get in touch with the Charge
Nurse. This is the preferred form of
communication that will give you
the quickest access to staff.
Our concern is if you are emailing
an individual staff member, they
may not see your message if they
are out sick or on vacation.
We strive to have open
communication with families and
we are available 24/7 by phone.
With that said, if we are unable to
answer at the time of your call,
please leave a message and we will
get back to you as soon as we can.
Thank you!
