BOARD OF SELECTMEN Minutes of the Meeting of May 27, 2010. The meeting took place in the Land Bank Conference Room, 22 Broad Street, Nantucket, MA 02554. Members of the Board present were Rick Atherton, Brian Chadwick, Michael Kopko, Patricia Roggeveen, and Whiting Willauer. Chairman Roggeveen called the meeting to order at 1:34 PM. 1. Goals and Objectives Workshop. Town Manager C. Elizabeth Gibson reviewed the proposed outline for discussion, mentioning the Board of Selectmen should set goals for the Town Administration to implement. She promised to update the Board members monthly on the progress of those goals and objectives. Chairman Roggeveen mentioned that today’s meeting is to set up goals only. She would like to focus on the proposed goals for 2010-2011. Whiting Willauer joined the meeting at 1:43 PM. Mr. Kopko joined the meeting at 1:43 PM. Mr. Atherton feels the Board should be more focused in accomplishing goals instead of discussing plans. Mr. Chadwick thinks the Board of Selectmen should review staff recommendations and study those recommendations. Ms. Gibson informed the Board members on upcoming issues that will require the Board’s attention: sewer, wastewater, water quality, and fund of projects. Mr. Willauer added erosion control to the list. Mr. Kopko proposed setting specific goals for Ms. Gibson to review. Chairman Roggeveen disagrees; she thinks that the Board should endorse the goals that Ms. Gibson sets up. Ms. Gibson promised to review and update the Board of Selectmen Goals and Objectives list and added to the June 2 agenda. The meeting was unanimously adjourned at 3:38 PM.
