Minutes of the Meeting of 10 March 2008 at 1:00 PM. The meeting took place in the Town and
County Building, 16 Broad Street, Nantucket, MA 02554. Members of the Board present were Brian
Chadwick, Patricia Roggeveen, Whiting Willauer, Allen Reinhard and Michael Kopko. Chairman
Willauer called the meeting to order at 2:10 PM, following a meeting in open session.
EXECUTIVE SESSION
Real Estate Disposition. The Board agreed to present a counter offer to Charles Ryan, a property
owner along Ames Street in Madaket, that the Town will agree not build a bath house next to his
property in exchange for transfer to the Town of property containing a cottage known as “Millie’s”,
with appropriate setbacks, in response to a lawsuit filed by Mr. Ryan.
Non-union Contract Negotiations. Town Counsel Rob Hillman provided an update on the cable
television license renewal negotiations and explained that more information from the Cable
Television Advisory Committee regarding a “PEG” channel, is needed to proceed. Specifically,
better numbers as to how the channel would be funded need to be provided.
The Board discussed Town Counsel’s contract, which expires June 20, 2008.
Collective Bargaining. Town Administrator C. Elizabeth Gibson provided an update of negotiations
with the DPW, Fire, and Our Island Home unions.
The meeting was adjourned at 3:50 PM.
