Minutes of the meeting of 18 December 2008 at 9:00 AM. The meeting took place in the Conference Room,
3 E Chestnut Street, Nantucket, MA 02554. Members of the Board present were Rick Atherton, Michael
Kopko, Allen Reinhard, and Patricia Roggeveen. Chairman Kopko called the meeting to order at 9:10 AM in
open session.
The Board discussed where it wants to go with the Nantucket Hunting Association (NHA) negotiations.
Chairman Kopko said the Board needs to “distill down” its position and that the NHA needs to explain how
its proposal would work financially. He went on to say he told the NHA to essentially start over with a
business plan. Mr. Reinhard said he told both the NHA attorney Alison Zieff and Robert Butler, and NHA
member, the same. Ms. Roggeveen said she thinks the NHA also needs to do a feasibility study. Chairman
Kopko said he would like Mr. Reinhard and Mr. Chadwick to bring the NHA a unified position of the Board
with the message that the NHA redo its business plan. Mr. Atherton suggested property on Low Beach
Road as a possible alternate site for the NHA.
At 9:20 AM Mr. Reinhard moved to go into executive session and not to return to open session; Mr. Atherton
seconded. So voted unanimously by roll call vote.
Approved the 11th day of March, 2009.
