Minutes of the Meeting of 26 July 2007 at 6:45 PM. The joint meeting with the Finance Committee
took place in the Auditorium, Nantucket High School, 10 Surfside Road, Nantucket, MA 02554.
Members of the Board present were Brian Chadwick, Michael Kopko, Allen Reinhard, Patricia
Roggeveen and Whiting Willauer. Chairman Willauer called the meeting to order at 6:45 PM prior
to the start of the Special Town Meeting.
The Finance Committee discussed the revised Board of Selectmen motion with regard to Article 1
(Real Estate Acquisition/Dreamland Theatre). Mr. Chadwick spoke concerning a positive motion to
change the funding commitment amount from $4 million to a higher amount. Discussion followed
on reasons for doing so, the importance of specific language and the stipulations of the motion.
Discussion continued on the late timing of the new motion, the sense of the group and discussion
to occur on the floor. The Finance Committee voted to leave the Finance Committee motion as is,
reaffirming it.
The Board consented to leaving the meeting open during the Special Town Meeting during which
discussion and votes occurred for Articles 1 through 3.
The meeting adjourned at 9:45 PM.
