Minutes of the Meeting of 5 February 2007 at 7:00 PM. A joint meeting of the Nantucket Planning
and Economic Development Commission and the Board of Selectmen took place at 2 Fairgrounds
Road, Nantucket, MA 02554. Members of the Board present were Douglas Bennett, Brian
Chadwick, Michael Kopko, Catherine Flanagan Stover and Whiting Willauer. Chairman Willauer
called the meeting to order at 7:00 PM.
Presentation Regarding Proposed Wind Energy Project. NP & EDC consultant James Coyne of
Concentric Energy Advisors, gave a presentation on the Cape Wind Project. The Board consented
to develop a joint position on the project with the NP & EDC and to address the matter at its
February 14, 2007 meeting.
Auto Limitation Study Committee Recommendation. Mr. Kopko referenced the Board’s January
10, 2007 vote to forward the committee’s recommendation to the NP & EDC for further study and
potential incorporation in a comprehensive approach to parking and vehicle limitation. He now
recommended that the matter be directed to Transportation Planner Mike Burns within the Planning
Department for follow-up. After some discussion, the NP & EDC agreed to do so.
At 9:30 PM, Mr. Kopko moved to adjourn to executive session, not to return to open session for the
purpose of discussing a real estate matter. Mr. Chadwick seconded. So voted unanimously by a
roll call vote.
