Meeting Minutes for July, 2011
Meeting called to order by the chair on July 12, 2011 at 10:06 am EST.
Location: 2 Fairgrounds Road, Nantucket MA
In Attendance: David Sharpe, Lisa Bouchard, John O’Connor, & David Larivee.
Absent: Angus Macvicar
Approval of Agenda: Agenda approved as written
Approval of minutes: Minutes from approved as written.
Topics:
1) Election of officers:
All on a unanimous vote David Sharpe was reelected as chairman, John O’Connor as vice
Chairman, & David Larivee as minute taker.
2) Letter to Town Manager:
As of the date of this meeting there has been no response from Town Manager Gibson about
the letter that was sent to the committee pertaining to immigration status of taxi drivers &
owners, or removal of names and addresses of the owners posted on their licenses inside of
taxis
3) Meeting with Board of Selectmen on July 20:
Chairman Sharpe stated that he would be in attendance at the July 20th meeting to support the
regulation changes proposed by the Taxi Owners Association and anyone who wishes to attend
will be welcome.
Roundtable Discussion:
A) Committee Members:
Committee will look into advertising how to lodge complaints of overcharging and
mistreatment against taxi owners and drivers. A thank you letter will be sent to Wendy
Watts thanking her for her hard work done for this committee.
B) Public Comment:
None at this time
Next Meeting: August 9, 2011 at 10:00am EST. at the 2 Fairgrounds conference room.
