Meeting Minutes for December 21, 2011
Meeting called to order by the chairman at 10:01 am EST.
Location: Training Room – Public Safety Facility, 4 Fairgrounds Road, Nantucket MA
In Attendance: David Sharpe, Lisa Bouchard, David Larivee, Angus MacVicar, John O’Connor, Sue
Marques and Lynne Robinson
Absent: None
Approval of Agenda: Agenda approved as written
Approval of minutes: Minutes from approved as written.
Topics:
1) Review of draft of Annual Report about the state of the Taxi Industry on Nantucket
The Committee discussed and revised the Annual Report that Chairman Sharpe drafted. The
Committee liked the draft, but required changes to be put in place for the next TAC meeting.
2) New Business
The Committee discussed the vote taken by the Board of Selectmen on December 7. The
Committee expressed frustration and concern about the BOS discussion about removing certain
taxi stands for the remainder of the winter to free up regular parking spaces was unexpected.
An ensuing vote by the BOS without much input from the taxi community took everyone by
surprise. Members of the Taxi Community attended the December 14th meeting to express
their displeasure and concern about a negative financial impact on their business. David Larivee
expressed concern that the TAC is not needed.
