Meeting Minutes for March 14, 2012
Meeting called to order by the Chairman at 10:00 am EST.
Location: Training Room – Public Safety Facility - 4 Fairgrounds Road, Nantucket MA
In Attendance: David Sharpe, Lisa Bouchard, John O’Connor, Sue Marques, Angus MacVicar
and Lynne Robinson
Absent: David Larivee
Approval of minutes: Minutes approved as written on 5-0 vote.
The meeting started with John O’Connor introducing Tim Cummings from the Alliance for
Substance Abuse Prevention. Tim explained that his organization is seeking to assist in finding solutions
to monitor the parties on Nobadeer Beach during the Fourth of July.
Topics:
1) Review of draft of Annual Report about the state of the Taxi Industry on Nantucket
The Committee discussed the report. An extra word was removed and was approved on a 6-0
vote. The Chairman reported that he will ask Town Administration to place the report on an
upcoming agenda for the Board of Selectmen. The committee agreed that it should occur before
Daffodil Weekend.
2) New Business
Audience member Ken Turgeon asked about the status of adding more taxi stands in addition to
ones that were temporally removed. The committee explained that this issue was already
addressed. Both the Traffic Safety Committee and Town Administration declined the
recommendations. It was agreed that this issue should be taken up by the Taxi Owners
Association and brought before the BOS.

Fairgrounds Road
