Meeting Minutes for January 18, 2012
Meeting called to order by the chairman at 10:02 am EST.
Location: Conference Room, 2 Fairgrounds Road, Nantucket MA
In Attendance: David Sharpe, Lisa Bouchard, Angus MacVicar, John O’Connor and Sue Marques
Absent: David Larivee, Lynne Robinson
Approval of Agenda: Agenda was revised, the committee voted 5-0 to remove topic about disbanding
committee.
Approval of minutes: Minutes approved as written
Topics:
1) Review of draft of Annual Report about the state of the Taxi Industry on Nantucket
The Committee discussed and revised the Annual Report that Chairman Sharpe drafted. The
committee felt that the passage added at the end to possibly disband the committee until
further notice was not necessary once members had a chance to think about it.
Lisa Bouchard recommended adding wording in the report to emphasize a growing
concern in the taxi community about rogue cabs, people or companies not adhering to the rules
and subsequent enforcement of rules and regulations by BOS and NPD.
Chairman Sharpe concluded that the report should not be turned in right away and that
the committee continue to revise the report in order to provide the best possible information.
2) New Business
No new business by the committee was discussed. Audience member, Ken Turgeon, distributed
to the committee a letter from the taxi community to the BOS with regard to the December 7th
vote removing some of the taxi stands until April 15.
Next Meeting: February 15, 2012 at 10:00am EST in the Training Room of the Public Safety Facility at 4
Fairgrounds Road
