HomeMy WebLinkAbout05312013 Sewer Planning Work Group MinutesTown of Nantucket Sewer Planning Work Group Meeting Minutes May 31, 2013 Present: Nancy Wheatley, Chair; Members Anderson, Fee, Glowacki, McIntyre, Soverino, Stott, Williams; DPW Director Buzanoski, Planning Director Vorce. Next meeting: June 21, 2013 Department Public Works Conference Room 1:00 p.m. I. Call to order Chair called meeting to order 10:04 a.m at Board of Selectmen Conference Room, 16 Broad St. II. Minutes • SPWG approved minutes of 9/12/12 and 10/15/12 by unanimous consent with Mr. Fee abstaining. • SPWG approved minutes of April by unanimous consent. III. Review current status of Sewer Users List and discuss further action. • SPWG continued to discuss at length, the newly discovered connections that have not been billed for sewer services. • Chair announced that the matter having come to the attention of the BOS administratively, the formal notification from SPWG as anticipated at our last meeting had become moot. • DPW Director updated SPWG on the status of research within the data-base; cross checking Assessors records, DPW records and Wannacomet Water Company (billing) records. Results anticipated within weeks, possibly by next meeting. • Motion by Mr. McIntyre: With respect to the unbilled properties connected to the sanitary sewerage system, SPWG recommends to the BOS that the Town of Nantucket defer billing those properties until the data base has been vetted by SPWG with the assistance of DPW Director and Planning Director. SPWG further recommends that the town effect notification to the affected property owners as soon as possible after the data base has been vetted and before billing begins. Adopted by unanimous consent. DPW Director to develop a narrative for the next meeting, and to circulate the electronic spreadsheet that has gone to Wannacomet Water Company. IV. Discussion on options for changing current capital recovery.
