In attendance committee members Ken Blackshaw, Ian Golding, Zachary Dusseau, Chris Magee, John Stover. Members of the public were Flint Ranney (not participating as a committee member) Gregg Tivnan, Lauren Sinatra, Whitey Willauer, Mary-Adair Macaire, and Vanessa Emery. Meeting began with discussion of original climate action plan from 2008 where Vanessa Emery provided insight into the methods from which the plan was developed and was then submitted to a consultant and rehashed. Current document is too long, needs exec summary, which Anne then submitted a draft of. It outlines 5 target areas where the municipality should focus: 1.Municipal Changes/Green Communities Requirements 2.Transportation 3.Energy Efficient Buildings 4.Renewable Energy Generation 5.Waste Reduction The Energy Plan needs to incorporate the WPI recommendations, as well as the previous two climate plans. Moved to discussion on integration of CCA/Municipal Aggregate into Energy Plan and how it could serve as a facilitator for achieving goals with more local control of energy policies and procurement. Lauren then submitted Framework for Evaluation of Energy Management Strategies Led to discussion about the Cooperation of Town Energy Office with ESC and the importance of outreach and incorporating as many perspectives as possible in development and integration of an Energy Plan. It is important that town leaders in set a consistent policy that the committee, employees, and citizens can rely upon and refer to. Issue of education of residents and business owners -> Energy Packet on purchase of a new home? ●What are we doing currently and how can we improve it? Decided that there needs to be an effort to build consensus from all sources to determine what is best for the whole of Nantucket and that support from BOS is paramount in determining the success of the committee as well as the Energy Plan. Effectiveness of individual projects vs. an overall plan requires consistent feedback and reporting between all parties involved. Adjourn at 12:22
