In attendance were subcommittee members John Stover, Chris Magee, Ken Blackshaw and Frank Kaminski. George Aronson, Principal of CommonWealth Resource Management was on speaker phone. Also present were Selectmen Whitey Willauer, Bill Tornavish, and Carl Borchert. The reading of the minutes from the previous minutes was waived and motion was made, seconded, and approved to accept them. Peter Morrison’s Feb. 16, report with additional material dated Feb. 17, was discussed. It was moved that the following statement be provided with the report to the Board of Selectmen. The Energy Study Committee was charged by the Board of Selectmen to evaluate the economics of the Madaket Wind Turbine Project. Our evaluation includes the following: 1.Analysis of wind data at the Madaket Site 2.Review of electricity output that can be generated from this wind 3.Value of electricity sold through the net metering program. 4.Value of Renewable Energy Certificates 5.Annual operating and maintenance costs 6.Reasonable annual contribution to a reserve fund. 7.Capital costs for purchase and installation. The Energy Study Committee has a high degree of confidence that the information in front of you is extremely accurate. There may be minor adjustments over time and we will continue to update the report as appropriate. As an example we have revised the average wind speed estimate from 8.56 to 8.47 meters per second and that is reflected in the supplemental document. We further believe that, based on our projections for any reasonable scenario, the Madaket Wind Turbine will produce positive cash flows through its life. This motion was provided by Chris Magee, seconded by Ken Blackshaw, and approved unanimously by the members present. The meeting was adjourned at 3:00 pm. Respectfully submitted by Ken Blackshaw, Secretary Pro Tem
