Minutes from Wednesday, June 13th at 6pm

Topic: Community Garden Location visits
- Hinsdale Park
o Garden would be too far from parking area
o Lots of work to develop
- Across from Cumby’s
o Could add wood lockers to barn
o Would need raised beds/flood zone
o Location could encourage vandalism
o Visible – positive
o Must look nice because of visibility
o Parking could be over knotweed next to house
o Has water
- Behind the muse
o Protected
o Level
o Parking

o Would need work to be cleared
o Lots of space to expand
o Proximity to school and mid-island market (SN)
Garden specifics
- start with a dozen plots
- 15’x20’
- Plan for Fall 2013 start
- Possible Sustainable Nantucket involvement
- *Dylan will present at next SN board meeting. Let Amy know if you want
promotional materials.
Funding
- We could write grants
- Ask for help form Land Bank
- Sustainable Nantucket could write grants
Management

- Create rules/regulations for gardeners

- *Dylan will ask about $/supply help with flyer for the Fair

Topic: Newsletter/Flyer to pass out at Fair (9/15 & 9/16)
