Steve Bender, 73 Orange Street — Comprehensive Wastewater Treatment Plan points. This is directed toward the catch basins. The Department of Environmental Protection is concerned about catch basins; read Condition 10 of the Chapter 91 license issued to Winthrop Management Corporation relative to maintenance regime of catch basins in the Stop & Shop parking lot. Looking at the catch basins today, there are no absorbent pillows and they are filthy. He brought this up to the Conservation Commission (ConCom) in 2016, hopefully as a leaver to get the Town to clean up its catch basins. Read a letter dated 12/22/2016 from ConCom to Winthrop about cleaning the catch basin sediment traps and installation of absorbent pillows. Contends Winthrop is environmentally irresponsible. Asked what is going on with the ConCom. Next time he'll talk about fertilizers. APPROVALOF 1. December 21, 201 Motion to Approve. Discussion Crowley — This is to abandon the septic. They would pump the tank and either crush in place or fill. Staff will inspect abandoned tanks, even when the fee is waived. Action Motion to Waive the Fees but not the usual follow up inspection and staff is to submit a report on the follow up inspection. Discussion Crowley — This septic is in technical failure within the Madaket Harbor Watershed District. Recommends approving this. Action Motion to Approve the ACO. N Minutes for January 18, 2018, adopted Feb. 15 ,eport; Department activities in the aftermath of the sewer failure: Crowley — Shellfishing is closed ie taking of the scallop muscle; taking of whole in -shell scallops are banned. Staff highly recommends nuscle not be consumed raw. He looked into whether or not the Town should close the salt fisheries; ave that authority. In light of that, we reiterated sanitation. LaFavre — On Friday January 5, we issued .y closure advisory to any restaurants north of the Dreamland. They followed up a few days later with on sanitation and asking them to remain closed. Reviewed other sanitation notices sent to all affected We did reopening inspections of several restaurants up to Monday, January 8. Crowley — The daily dicate substantial flushing in the harbor. The most impacted areas are the Steamship Wharf, Nantucket and the Easy Street Basin; numbers have changed significantly. Police Chief William Pittman, Sewer avid Grey, and Public Works Director Rob McNeil are here to answer any questions. When Mr. .eturns, we will put together a report. An off -island certified lab is testing the harbor water samples. He would like to know if the water is being tested for viruses: hepatitis, ecoli, and norovirus. Pittman conversation with Natural Resources Director Jeff Carlson; the results coming back are for eight ags. Emergency Management has their own testing protocol they employ after a sewage spill; well get k from them. Suggested waiting for that report and if BOH wants something in addition, then get the send them off. McNeil — Press releases are going out every day. Reviewed the clean-up process; 7ork began Monday. Explained how the electrical delivery lines are being cleaned. We are addressing all atilities at this point.
