State below or attach a separate addendum of specific special permits or variance relief applying for:
The applicants request relief by Variance from the front yard setback
requirement of 35 feet under Nantucket Zoning By-law §139-16, as
measured from East Eel Point Road, in order to construct a garage to
be sited about 5 feet from the front lot line (but about 28 feet from
the traveled portion of East Eel Point Road). The garage building
will contain mechanical systems and equipment to enable the dwelling
upon locus to be converted for year-round use. Because of wetlands
and the septic system location, there is no other location upon locus
where the garage can appropriately be placed. The applicants had
sought to acquire the fee interest in the unnamed, unconstructed "way"
shown upon the plan submitted herewith and taken by the Town of
Nantucket for disposition under the "yard sale" program, but have
reached an agreement to allow the "way" to be acquired by the
Nantucket Islands Land Bank for potential future access to its
neighboring property.
